Nashville, May 16, 2015 – AACE (American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists)
Today, Dr. Sanjiv Shah presented exciting new data on Gather at the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists (AACE) conference.
Analysis from 48 Type 2 diabetics at Dr. Shah’s clinic revealed that in their first 8 weeks on the system, there were 57 changes to their insulin. Over 2/3rds of these were increases in dosing, with the remainder being about equal numbers of decreases or timing changes.
This resulted in an average of 31mg/dL drop in mean fasting BG and a 16mg/dL drop in overall mean BG. On average each patient recorded just under 2 episodes of BG <70 and 0.3 episodes of BG <50.
This observational data indicates Gather Health facilitates more frequent titration of insulin, enabling tighter glucose control, with few recorded hypoglycemic episodes.
